The Chia Seeds have been an important staple for hundreds of years. The Aztecs and Mayans utilized the seeds for strength and call Chia the “Indian Running Food”.  The Chia Seed is also known today as the Salvia hispanica.     I would include chia seeds in my diet to improve cholesterol levels, boost bone health, and increase energy. I just wish it were more accessible in my location. I also look forward to learning different recipes on how to prepare and serve them.

    Nice post! I also read that Chia seeds can also prolong hydration and improve nutrient absorption of electrolytes. This also slows digestion and keeps you feeling fuller longer reducing sugar cravings. Superfood indeed!

    Wow I really should start using chia seeds on my food. Topping my cereal with chia seeds seems like a good idea. I need to lose weight and I think chia seeds are a healthy and tasty way to lose those pounds!

    Thank you for this article! I just wish the author discussed more recipes. Chia seeds isn’t that popular really; it may be popular with the health-conscious crowd, but on the other side of the spectrum, they barely know this superfood exists! We need to address the growing number of overweight children and parents should be aware that there are lots of healthy food options even in accessible groceries and supermarkets.     I never heard of chia seeds before–who would imagine all those healthy benefits in one little seed! If they taste as good as sunflower kernels (I don’t like the seeds), then I may have to try it!

    Very good and Useful post!Everybody should read it !
    Chia seeds is a very healthy food with many health benefits. It need not be taken like a meal or a snack. A spoon of seeds gives a greater health benefits. Such seeds should be included in our diet and should be given to children everyday. We look for good foods in super markets and check all the products for proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins etc for ourselves but instead we eat food like Chia seeds can make all of out of it.

    I really need to try these seeds. I tried a naked with them in it but I have not tried them on anything else. I was told you could use them for and in anything really. I am glad that you can use them for weight loss and health benefits. I am going to get these soon to try them out.

    So glad to see that Chia seeds are finally getting the recognition they deserve! Plus, with all the recent attention given to these little powerhouse seeds, we are able to find Chia available for purchase in just about every store now. Thank goodness! Such an easy way to add extra health to so many different meals.
